This is the moment the Mexican military and a crime suspect crashed a yoga instructor’s video at a beach.

A dramatic video on social media by Jayson Barniske showed him handstand training on the sand at a beach in the resort city of Tulum last week when a man and the soldiers suddenly appeared in the screen.

The California native appeared to be unaware of his surroundings as he was being recorded while the suspect led two marines on a chase.

‘Meanwhile in Tulum,’ wrote Barniske, who now lives in Mexico, on his Instagram account.

His Instagram followers mused at the bizarre video.

‘Focus. Always focus,’ one Instagrammer wrote.

Another user wondered how cool it would be to use a grab of the video for a holiday greetings card.

‘This had to one my Christmas card!’ they wrote.

The video caught the attention Rúben Moreira, a Representative for northeastern state of Coahuila.

‘Mexico at the forefront … beach, yoga and military exercises in the same (vacation) package,’ he wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

It’s unknown what caused the military to chase after the suspect, whose identity is unknown.

Crime data released by the Mexican federal government last Friday showed a spike in murders reported during the first 10 months of 2023 in the state of Quintana Roo, where Tulum is located.

At least 597 people were killed from January until October, in comparison 522 homicides were registered during the same period last year.
