The father of slain University of Idaho student Kaylee Goncalves called the Moscow Police Department “cowards” as the search for the killer who murdered his daughter and three other students continues.
“She says, sir, I don’t think stabs is the right word; it was like tears, like this was a strong weapon, not like a stab,” Goncalves told Fox News Digital, referring to what coroner Cathy Mabbutt told him.
“She said these were big open gouges. She said it was quick. These weren’t something where you were going to be able to call 911. They were not going to slowly bleed out…It was a hell of a battle going on down there from what the coroner told us.”
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Madison Mogen, 21; Kaylee, 21; Ethan Chapin, 20; and Xana Kernodle, 20, were murdered on November 13 in their off-campus rental off King Street in Moscow.
According to Moscow police, two of the victims were found on the second floor, and another two were found on the third floor of the house, which is built into a hill off campus.
Two roommates who were on the first floor were not attacked by the intruder, and police say they do not believe the surviving roommates had anything to do with the murders.
Police said that the suspect, who has yet to be named or found, used a sharp-edged knife in the killings but have not shared many other details.
“They’re just being cowards,” Goncalves said about Moscow police. “There are girls walking around the street right now that deserve to know. They should be looking out for a sadistic male.”

On Wednesday, police said they were “interested in speaking with the occupant(s)” of a white Hyundai Elantra that was reported in the area around the time the students were murdered.
