A 3-year-old Florida boy who vanished on Sunday was reportedly found dead in a retention pond.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Axel Caballero was last seen in Winter Springs. WKMG reported that hours after a missing child alert was issued, Seminole County police’s dive team discovered his body in the pond.

Police said Caballero had autism. WFLA reported that the pond was located not far from the toddler’s home.

Caballero’s cause of death remains under investigation.
