‘I’m Not Alleged. I Did It’: Teen Fatally Stabs Texas Football Player at High School Track Meet After Seating Dispute

Frisco police in Texas say officers responded Monday to a report of a gunshot at a home tied to the Metcalf family, but found no evidence of a shooting.

Investigators determined it was a “swatting” incident — a false emergency report intended to trigger a heavy police response. This marks the third time the Metcalf family has been targeted. Similar incidents occurred on April 8 and April 17 at the homes of Metcalf’s parents, according to Fox 4.

Austin Metcalf, a junior at Memorial High School in Frisco, was fatally stabbed during a UIL District 11-5A track meet at Kuykendall Stadium on April 2. Police said that Anthony, a student from Centennial High School in Frisco, stabbed Metcalf in the chest during a confrontation after Anthony was seated under a tent designated for Memorial High School students.

Following the attack, the families of both Metcalf and Anthony have reportedly been under attack.

CBS News reports that Metcalf’s father, Jeff Metcalf, appeared at the start of the Anthony family press conference last week, wearing sunglasses and occasionally talking on his phone. About 40 minutes after the scheduled start time, Dallas police arrived and asked him to leave.

Jeff Metcalf said he didn’t intend to speak at the press conference but wanted to hear what was being said at the conference.

During the conference, Anthony’s mother and advocacy group Next Generation Action Network, Kala Hayes, said the family has been “under attack” in the wake of the stabbing, with threats and harassment.

No arrests have been made in the swatting incidents. Check back for updates.
