Arby’s Employees Find Manager Dead in Freezer During Business Hours

An investigation is underway in Louisiana after a body was reportedly found on Thursday in a restaurant’s walk-in freezer.

KATC reported that the discovery was made at an Arby’s in New Iberia. Police said employees there found the body but it is unclear right now whether this is a criminal matter.

New Iberia police told KATC that they were investigating the case as a suspicious death. Meanwhile, New Iberia police Captain Leland Laseter told KADN identified the decedent as a female Arby’s employee. Police confirmed to KPLC that the deceased employee was a manager.

He also said that it does not appear foul play was involved even though the case is being investigated as a suspicious death.

“After completely processing the crime scene… this does not seem like a homicide, it seems like an accident,” Laseter told the news outlet.

KADN reported that the body was found during business hours. It is unclear if any customers were in the Arby’s at the time.

Officials have not publicly named the deceased employee.
