A 26-year-old man was hospitalised after part of his finger was discovered on a car windscreen.
NSW Police were called to an apartment on Ventura Avenue in Narwee, south Sydney, at about 3.30am on Wednesday following report’s a man’s finger was amputated.
However, police allege the man fled using the apartment balcony while officers were talking to a resident.
A crime scene was established at the Narwee apartment but the man was unable to be found.

Police received another call at 7.30am after part of a human finger was found on the windscreen of a parked car in Riverwood
Police received another call at 7.30am after part of a human finger was found on the windscreen of a parked car in Riverwood, a little over a kilometre west of the first property.
Officers reportedly found blood on the door of a nearby unit and forced entry at about 11am.
Inside they discovered the 26-year-old man who was missing a finger.
The man was hospitalised and has been discharged to be interviewed by police.
It is unknown who amputated the man’s finger or why.
