Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, is repoetedly a new charge for a seventthvmurswe.
Heuermann has been charged with murdering 24-year-old Valerie Mack from New Jersey in 2020, with her remains found in Manorville, Nee York. He is set to appear in court on Long Island Tuesday morning to respond to this latest charge, CBS News reports.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, Mack’s partial skeletal remains were first uncovered in 2000, located around 50 miles from where more of her remains were found on Gilgo Beach, over a decade later. In 2020, genetic testing identified her.
Authorities discovered her remains tied with rope inside a black plastic bag and secured with duct tape, as stated in a bail application linked to the new indictment. The document indicated that both of her hands were severed, and one of her legs was amputated.
“[Maxk’s parents] are very grateful for the small bit of closure,” Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said Tuesday, according to ABC News.
Heuermann also faces charges for the murders of six other women whose remains were discovered on Long Island.
The investigation into the Gilgo Beach killings began in 2010 when police searching for a missing woman uncovered 10 sets of human remains in the brush along a barrier island parkway, raising concerns about a serial killer.
Heuermann, who lived with his wife and two children in Massapequa Park while commuting to a Manhattan architecture office, was arrested on July 13, 2023.

He’s also facing charges for the murders of Amber Lynn Costello, Megan Waterman, and Melissa Barthelemy. Earlier this year,investigators charged him with the deaths of three additional women: Maureen Brainard-Barnes, Sandra Costilla, and Jessica Taylor.
He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
