Nine people were shot, including one fatally, at a large party in Indianapolis early Sunday morning, WISH-TV reports.
Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around midnight to the 5100 block of East 65th Street, where they encountered a chaotic scene with shots still being fired and partygoers fleeing for safety.
At least nine people were shot, and one of them, an unidentified woman, died at the party. The other victims, aged between 16 and 22 years old, were not in critical condition, according to Fox 59.
More than 100 teenagers and young adults were attending the gathering before the shooting, WTHR-TV reports.
Investigators questioned several people, although no arrests have been announced yet. Multiple guns were found at the property.

Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett expressed outrage at the shooting, telling WISH-TV in a statement, “I am frustrated and angry at the news of young people shot at a Halloween party last night.”
“There are far too many guns in the hands of those who have no business having them, and shocking violence is too often the result. IMPD is investigating and will hold fully accountable those who have chosen to settle disagreements with firearms.”
Police spokesperson Samone Burris called on parents, community leaders and organizations to support area youth. “Our children need us. And this, tonight, is another example of why it’s important for us to have conversations with our youth and just continue to educate them about gun violence, about settling disputes, and just how to have a good time and go home safely,” Burris told WISH-TV.
