6-Year-Old Boy Attacked by Dog While Handcuffed to Bed

An Ohio mother, her boyfriend, and another man were arrested over the weekend after a dog attacked a 6-year-old boy who was handcuffed to a bed.

Ashland County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call late Saturday afternoon in Savannah and found that a pit bull had bitten the child on the neck and ear, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The child’s injuries were serious, and medics called in medical helicopter to take him to a hospital.

In the course of the investigation, detectives learned on Monday that the boy had been restrained with handcuffs on his hands and feet at the time of the dog attack. Deputies executed a search warrant and uncovered evidence they said supported those details.

The deputies also found Robert Michalski, the owner of the home and the dog, hiding in a “cubby hole” upstairs in the home. Michalski had left the house with the dog when deputies first arrived on Saturday.

Michalski and the boy’s mother, Angelina Williams, were taken into custody, along with Williams’ boyfriend, Taylor Marvin-Brown, who allegedly assisted the other two in restraining the boy.

The dog was also taken into custody as a vicious animal.

The sheriff’s office has forwarded the case to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges. No charges are listed in jail records.
