6 People Charged With Kidnapping and Torturing Man for a Week

Five Ohio men and a woman were arrested Saturday on kidnapping and assault charges after they allegedly held a young man against his will for a week while beating and torturing him.

Toledo Police Aaron Bradshaw, 40; Austin Bradshaw, 23; Michael Esqueda, 28; Martina Jones, 28; David Cessna, 26; and Chance Johnson, 27, were all charged with idnapping to terrorize or to inflict serious physical harm on the victim of another, WJW reported.

City of Maumee officials said the victim was assaulted at the Red Roof Inn and that the attack started on March 14 and ended a week later. They said Toledo police were investigating a second location there.

Maumee officials said that three of the suspects face charges there as well. Cessna is charged with domestic violence, Johnston is charged with felonious assault, and Jones is charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.

The victim told investigators he was beaten with a baseball bat and fists, was forced to stand for extended periods of time, was given food and drink just once a day, and only slept for about 10 hours during the weeklong torture.

Court documents said the victim had injuries all over his body. The documents did not say what led to the kidnapping and torture or how the victim and his assailants were connected.

The six were booked into the Lucas County jail on Saturday and are due in court Monday morning, WTOL reported.
