Tot Boy Found Fatally Beaten in Stroller Outside Family Dollar; Mom Charged With Murder

An East Hanover, New Jersey, infant has died after being left inside a parked car unattended.

News 12 New Jersey reports that a 6-month-old girl was found Wednesday afternoon in a parking lot on South Ridgedale Avenue. The infant was left unattended before her death, according to prosecutors.

Attempts by paramedics to revive the infant were unfortunately unsuccessful. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

It is unclear why the mother was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Morris County temperatures were in the 90s that day, one of the warmest days of the year thus far.

No charges have been filed at this time. However, the manner and cause of death are still under investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, East Hanover police, and the county sheriff’s office.

“This is the 2nd Pediatric Vehicular Heatstroke (PVH) death in New Jersey this week. There have been a total of 17 PVH deaths in New Jersey since 1998.” Jan Null, Jan Null, CCM, Adjunct Professor of Meteorology at San Jose State University, told CrimeOnline in an emailed statement.

Police are seeking any information concerning this incident and ask people to call the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office at 973-285-6200 or the East Hanover Police Department at 973-887-0432.

The story is developing. Check back for updates.
