A Texas mom who was working as a DoorDash delivery driver has been charged with injuring one of her children while she picked up an order from a local restaurant.
In a press release, the Belton Police Department announced the March 26 arrest of Angela Moreno, 24, after an investigation into an October 2024 incident involving her 3-year-old son. Moreno, who was working as a DoorDash driver at the time, reportedly brought her 3-year-old and 1-year-old with her as she went to a restaurant to pick up an order to deliver to a customer. Police said that when she went into the restaurant, she allegedly left both of her young sons “unsecured and unattended” in the car. When she returned 10 minutes later, police said she saw her older son’s head coming out of the car’s moonroof, which had closed on his neck.
First responders arrived to the scene on Oct. 10, 2024, at around 9 p.m. that evening and found the boy “unconscious and not breathing.” Paramedics performed lifesaving procedures on him and transported him to McClane Children’s Hospital. He survived his injuries.

Police said that while Moreno was inside the restaurant, the boy apparently “climbed to stick his head out of the moonroof and accidentally shut it on himself with the button on the ceiling of the car.” The door to the moonroof then closed on his neck and he was unable to reopen it, constricting his airway and preventing him from breathing.
The police referred the case to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, who formally charged Moreno with injury to a child on March 25. She was booked into Bell County Jail and posted $50,000 bond on March 27.
