An 18-year-old grandson didn’t appear to have any emotion at all when appearing in a Kentucky courtroom on Wednesday, the day after he’s accused of beating his 74-year-old grandmother with his fists and a “metal drinking tumbler,” causing “head trauma” so severe that the victim later died at a hospital.
Wyatt Testerman of Independence was arrested Tuesday afternoon outside of a residence on Ridgewood Drive after a reported “dispute between family members” turned into deadly domestic violence. According to the Erlanger Police Department, victim Cheri Oliver was “located in the residence with head trauma” and taken to Cincinnati’s University Hospital with what were then considered “life-threatening injuries.”
Tragically, Oliver did not survive.
“Oliver was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. It was determined that the incident was a dispute between family members,” cops said. “The incident was isolated and there is no further threat to the public.”

Now the victim’s grandson is charged with murder and sits in the Kenton County Detention Center with a $500,000 bond. Before he learned the bond amount, Fox affiliate WXIX reported, Testerman appeared to be emotionless as the judge noted he’s looking at a possible life sentence behind bars if he ends up being found guilty as charged.
Testerman, donning pink jail clothes, had a blank look on his face as the judge reportedly appointed him a public defender.
While cops have not yet specified what sparked the “dispute” that allegedly preceded the murder, WDKY reported that the suspect himself admitted to police that he repeatedly beat the victim with a “metal drinking tumbler” and his fists.
The report added that witnesses to the attack said Testerman “became violent for no apparent reason.’
