16-Year-Old Girl Charged in Deadly Stabbing

A 16-year-old Boston girl is expected in court Monday to face multiple charges — including murder — in a stabbing in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood on Saturday that left a woman dead and a 17-year-old girl seriously injured.

Police said they were called just before 5 p.m., but the two victims, both suffering multiple stab wounds, ran into a nearby police station on their own before officers arrived at the stabbing scene, WCVB reports.

The 21-year-old woman, who died of her injuries, and the teen were taken to separate hospitals, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. The 17-year-old is expected to survive.

Officers captured the 16-year-old girl quickly after the incident and took her to a hospital for treatment of her own injuries. She was later arrested.

The girl’s arraignment will take place in Boston Municipal Court instead of juvenile court since state law provides for juveniles aged 14 to 17 charged with homicide to be arraigned in regular court.

Neither the victims nor the suspect have been named.

Boston Police are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 617-343-4470. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-8477 or text the word “TIP” to 27463.
