Stuart Pearce says former Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker is ‘underestimated’ for England and Manchester City.
On Sunday, Kyle Walker earned cap number 75 for England and Stuart Pearce thinks the right-back ‘won’t be valued him until he is gone’.
Back in 2017, the all-action fullback made the call to leave the colours of Spurs and join Manchester City for £45 million (BBC Sport).

Given the dominance of Man City since then, and Tottenham’s wait to still win a trophy, it was the right decision from the 32-year-old to leave.
But where will Walker rank when he hangs up his boots? Well, former England fullback Pearce thinks he deserves more respect, as he told talkPSORT.
“It won’t be until he retires from international football that people will value how good he is,” said Pearce.
“He’s a strange one. But he makes the odd mistakes and he has done them at tournaments. He has made mistakes positionally, more years ago, than he has done now.
“But people undervalue him. I don’t know how many caps Walker has got. He could end up with a ludicrously large amount. His pace has got him out of trouble so many times. I think he is probably short of creation and scoring goals. He can play centre-half as well in a three.

TOTTENHAM’S SEARCH FOR A RIGHT-BACK
From Emerson Royal to Serge Aurier, Spurs have gone through a long list of right-sided fullbacks since Walker’s exit.
In truth, the man that initially replaced him was Kieran Trippier and he was outstanding for Spurs.
But when he left to win trophies, as he did with Atletico Madrid, it just made that fullback spot more chaotic and problematic for whoever is in the dugout.
And, at this moment in time, not even Daniel Levy knows who will be Tottenham’s manager for next season.
