Jamie Carragher has hailed Bruno Guimaraes after his performance for Newcastle United against Manchester United on Sunday.
The Magpies travelled in force to Wembley but ended up on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline.
Casemiro and a Sven Botman own goal handed the Red Devils the win and the Carabao Cup trophy.
Newcastle pushed and pushed at 2-0 but just couldn’t find a way back into the game.
This was a major disappointment for Newcastle and Eddie Howe must now pick up his troops after suffering cup final heartbreak.
A number of players did impress on the day though and midfielder Bruno Guimaraes was one of them – despite only just coming back from injury.

Bruno put himself through the pain barrier to get himself back for Newcastle and he certainly impressed pundit Carragher.
Speaking to Sky Sports (26/02, 5:50pm), Carragher picked out Bruno for praise.
Carragher was impressed with Bruno all day long but was especially wowed by a moment where he turned on the ball inside the box and almost set up Dan Burn for a shot at goal.

Carragher hailed Bruno as ‘really good’ and ‘excellent’, praising his desire to get on the ball and make things happen.
The former Liverpool defender added that it was performances like this that make you realise just how good and how important Bruno is at Newcastle.
“Even though Newcastle find themselves 2-0 down, I think he’s been really good,” said Carragher. “I think he’s been excellent. The most prepared to take the ball.”
“He’s been really good today. He takes the ball in difficult positions, just like this as well, he almost gets Dan Burn in. You just realise why he’s so important to this Newcastle team,” he added.
Bruno sadly went off with 11 minutes to play as Howe seemingly accepted that Newcastle were unlikely to get back into the game.
It wasn’t worth risking Bruno at that point given that Newcastle will have plenty of important games to come.
Newcastle’s record without Bruno is terrible compared to their record with him in the team and it’s true that he is their driving force from midfield.
Hopefully the Brazilian – who earns around £120,000-a-week at St James’ Park – can stay fit now and continue to shine for Newcastle, possibly helping them into the Champions League.
