A report speculated that Jurgen Klopp’s men were keen on adding the ‘next John Terry’ to their roster, and with Chelsea needing to sell their homegrown players, a move with two years on his contract seemed realistic.

However, it seems that is far from the truth, as Chelsea have no plans to approve a transfer for Levi Colwill to Liverpool or any club.

Chelsea looking not to sanction Colwill to Liverpool transfer

While much of the conversation regarding a rebuild at Anfield has pertained to their declining midfield.

However, with Virgil van Dijk’s fall from grace, Joel Matip severely underperforming and Joe Gomez looking like a different player after his lengthy return from injury, Ibrahima Konate remains the only saving grace at centre-back.

Despite Levi Colwill to Liverpool making sense as a transfer considering how talented he is, Ben Jacobs tweeted that there is no chance Chelsea agree to an exit for their youth product.

“Levi Colwill will not leave Chelsea this summer. Club has a three-year option on the contract. He will be back at the club next season. He won’t be sold or loaned. As previously reported, Chelsea view him as an elite-level prospect”, he updated.

HITC View: Liverpool have a right to be devastated

Intelligent reader of the game, only 20 years old, sublime on the ball and Premier League-proven; the Englishman ticks every box and more.

Levi Colwill in tandem with Ibrahima Konate would have been a pair capable of being one of the greatest centre-back duos in Premier League history, if not for Chelsea intervening and eventually stopping Liverpool from trying to pull off a transfer.

The Merseyside-based club will have a task on their hands to find many other such world-class prospects that would be open to a move, and d not eat up a chunk of their budget.
