Frenemies was a podcast created by famous YouTubers Trisha Paytas and Ethan Klein.
The podcast series premiered on September 15, 2020, with a new episode typically released weekly every Thursday.
Nearly every episode was at or over two hours long, with Paytas and Klein discussing a variety of topics and going on lengthy tangents.
The duo discussed their personal lives, mental health, pop culture, and internet drama.

Some episodes, however, were cut short due to the pair’s tumultuous relationship, which occasionally resulted in verbal disagreements.
Despite this, the podcast garnered a large audience of regular listeners, with thousands tuning in for each episode.
The duo’s last episode aired on June 8, 2021, with Paytas walking off the set and quitting the show.
Klein released one additional episode of the podcast, a video of him and musician Oliver Tree hosting the show on the Frenemies set.
Who were the hosts of Frenemies?
Before hosting Frenemies, Trisha Paytas and Ethan Klein both achieved internet stardom by posting viral videos on YouTube.
Paytas started posting on YouTube in 2007.
She shot to fame by posting lifestyle vlogs, mukbangs, outrageous outfits, and trolling videos.
The media sensation also appeared in music videos for artists Eminem, Amy Winehouse, and The All-American Rejects.

Klein also found fame on YouTube with his YouTube channel h3h3Productions, which he created and runs with his wife, Hila.
The Klein’s regularly film and post sketch comedy and reaction videos satirizing internet culture.
Paytas and Klein are more than just frenemies.
The podcasters are also family, with Paytas married to Moses Hacmon, Klein’s brother-in-law and Hila’s brother.
The duo explored this dynamic throughout the series, beginning with the podcast’s debut episode, Trisha’s New Boyfriend Is Hila’s Brother.
Why did the podcast end?
As Paytas and Klein were filming and recording their latest episode for Frenemies, the duo got into a fight about the time and effort it took to produce each episode.
The co-hosts were also splitting ad revenue and merchandise profits unevenly.
Paytas received 45% of profit, with Klein getting 55%.
However, Klein argued that he used the difference to cover production costs like podcasting equipment, camera crews, and additional staff.

In a now-deleted video on her YouTube channel, Paytas said: “I had this feeling in my heart that I need to step away from Frenemies and it’s really with a heavy heart that I say that.”
Paytas felt as though she deserved the extra 5% because “I really do feel like I built this show with them, 50-50.”
While the co-hosts were no strangers to feuding, ending the podcast cemented their status as formerly friends.
Klein took to X, formerly Twitter, to confirm that he was “honestly gutted” over Paytas’ decision to leave the show for good.
