Peter Lanfer is a professor, academic, and college lecturer.
Lanfer was born on September 29, 1976, and raised in the US.
He graduated from Dartmouth University in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in religion, “where he wrote a thesis on biblical interpretation in apocalyptic Judaism and early Christianity,” according to his Dartmouth biography.
From 2002 to 2004, he went on to complete his graduate studies at Yale University, where he received a Master of Arts in Religion, concentrating on Judaic studies.
Starting in 2004, he began working on his doctorate at UCLA, where he earned a PhD in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures in 2010.
After serving as a Lecturer at UCLA, Lanfer took a job as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Occidental College, which he has held since 2017.
He has also been a Lecturer at Dartmouth College from September 2010 through the present day, “teaching courses on Jewish and Christian histories and literatures” including the:

How did the couple meet?
Sarah Drew revealed some heartwarming details about her personal life while attending The Hollywood Reporter’s Emmy Nominees party on Friday, September 14, 2018.
She shared that the duo met while working together in their early 20s as camp counselors.
“We worked at a camp together as camp counselors, and then he wooed me with hand-written letters for eight months before we saw each other again,” she said, as reported by US Weekly.
“Super old-fashioned,” she added.
Drew also revealed how Lanfer proposed – and how she almost ruined the big moment.
“Our first date after eight months of correspondence was to take a train into Manhattan and see the play Wit with Judith Light starring in the role.”
“It’s about a professor of the poetry of John Donne, and the week leading up to his proposal, he gave me a poem and a gift each day.”
“The final one was supposed to be a poem by John Donne and then the ring, but I actually ruined it all because I like, patted him down and felt the ring box beforehand.”
“It was so bad,” she admitted.
“I just needed to know what was about to happen,” she added.
“So I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I don’t know. I don’t know if I’m ready. I mean… I am ready, I love you.’”
“And he’s like, ‘OK, this is not about creating a perfect moment. This is just about me telling you that I love you.’”
“Then he opened the box, and the ring actually went flying out and almost fell down the boardwalk into the sea never to be found again,” Drew continued.
“But we got it, and we threw it on my finger and hugged, and we’re just crying all over each other.”
“It was so beautiful, and that’s just who he is. He’s a romantic, through and through,” she gushed.
On June 17, 2002, the couple ended up tying the knot.
