Who is Natalie Portman’s husband Benjamin Millepied?
Born on June 10, 1977, Benjamin Millepied is a French choreographer and ballet dancer from Bordeaux.
The youngest of three boys, Benjamin followed in his mother’s footsteps and pursued a career in ballet.
Sometime in the early 1990s, he relocated to New York City.
After becoming a choreographer, he coordinated dances for City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, the Metropolitan Opera, the Paris Opera Ballet, and Baryshnikov Arts Center.
On the big screen, Benjamin has also choreographed scenes in Black Swan and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune.
On August 4, 2012, he tied the knot with Oscar winner Natalie Portman after almost three years of dating.
On June 14, 2011, the couple welcomed their first child; a son named Aleph.
On February 22, 2017, the Thor star gave birth to her and Benjamin’s second child; a daughter named Amalia.
How did Natalie meet Benjamin?
In December 2009, Natalie first encountered Benjamin while filming for the 2010 horror movie Black Swan.

Not only were they co-stars but Benjamin also choreographed many of Natalie’s ballet sequences.
While remembering how they met, she recalled: “I met my husband on it, so I think I was in, like, dreamland.”
During her SiriusXM interview with Hoda Kotb, she said: “He was teaching me to dance. You know, one of those romantic [stories] … It was definitely exciting and fun. It was beautiful.

“I don’t know about instant. It was like I really got to know him and that was when it seemed like, ‘Oh this is the person.'”
The pair went on to collaborate again for the 2018 musical drama Vox Lux.
“It was fun to get to watch him create because I don’t often watch him in the studio,” Natalie further explained.
“Just to see the ease and the expertise that he has, and of course with different kinds of dance too, was really, really stunning.
“It was really fun because I think he knows me so well, and what my strengths and weaknesses are in dancing, that he was really able to create choreography very seamlessly and quickly because we had very little time.
“So it was very convenient that he knew me so well and that he’s as talented as he is.”
