In a November 2022 interview with SiriusXM’s The Highway, she confirmed that the shirt belonged to Morgan.
While speaking with People in June 2023, the songstress reflected on that interview, saying: “The Highway interview, everyone I think saw it as me being trying to be sly, but I’m like, I’m actually just having a panic attack.
“I was honestly shocked that I even said that it was his shirt, but I guess since he had already confirmed it with the poster thing that he did, I was like, ‘Sure, yeah, it’s his shirt.'”

She then shut down the dating rumors, saying they made her “really uncomfortable,” but added that she’s “glad people care” about her music.
She continued: “I’m not the kind of person that likes to talk about things like that.
“All my songs are about people. Tennessee Orange is a very nice song, but if I told people who it’s about, then they would ask me who Sleep on My Side is about. I can’t tell you that because it’s not a nice song!”
Megan later added: “[What] Tennessee Orange taught me is that I never want to hint at who my songs are about, ever again!”
Who are Megan Moroney’s parents?
Megan’s parents live private lives, largely staying out of the spotlight.
However, the Lucky singer has shared some information about them.
In an interview with ET, she discussed how her dad influenced her love for music, joking that he “brainwashed” her to focus on lyrics.
She said: “My dad plays music, so even from like a very young age, I feel like my dad made me pay attention to lyrics, and I always say he brainwashed me.”
Megan has spoken about her mom’s love for University of Georgia football and how that influenced her writing for Tennessee Orange.
In a red carpet interview with Celeb Secrets, she said, in part: “My mom’s a really — like she’s a diehard Georgia fan — so growing up, it was like ‘You’re not allowed to wear other sports teams.’
“So when I moved to Nashville and I found myself wearing Tennesee Orange, that’s how I literally wrote the song, I was like ‘Georgia they call it a sin.’ It’s really — I should’ve said ‘My mom would call it a sin.'”
Megan has also revealed that her parents prevented her from dropping out of college after she performed for Chase Rice’s tour, telling People: “After I played that show, I fell in love with [performing] and I was like, ‘Well, I want to drop out of school.’
“That’s why I told my parents, and my parents were like, ‘Yeah, that’s not happening.’ So I finished up my four years, and then moved to Nashville in May of 2020.”
