Aston Donald McEachin, an American politician, and attorney From 2017 until his passing in 2022 represented Virginia’s 4th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.


After completing law school, McEachin started his own practice, McEachin and Gee, and eventually rose to the position of partner there. In 2001, he ran as the Democratic candidate for Virginia attorney general, but Jerry Kilgore defeated him.

McEachin was born in Nuremberg, Germany, while his father was a soldier in the American Army. He went to Richmond’s St. Christopher’s School. He graduated from American University with a bachelor’s degree in political history in 1982.

He then went to the University of Virginia School of Law, where he graduated in 1986 with a J.D.

His district, which had its headquarters in Richmond, the state capital, covered a sizable portion of the region between Richmond and Hampton Roads. McEachin, a Democrat, served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1996 to 2002 before being re-elected for a second term from 2006 to 2008.
