Charles Melton was born in Juneau, Alaska, on January 4, 1991, and was raised in Manhattan, Kansas by parents Phil and Sukyong Melton.
According to his IMDb page, his father was in the Army, which caused the family to frequently move.
The American actor attended Kansas State University.

In May 2023, People reported that Melton was romantically involved with actress Chloe Bennet after the pair were seen shopping together in Beverly Hills, California.

He is also well-known for his portrayal of the character Joe Yoo in the May 2023 Netflix movie May December, for which he received a Golden Globe Award nomination.
