US Weekly confirmed that the two were engaged on June 7. A source close to the couple told the outlet about the engagement.
They said, “She’s really, really happy. They’ve been in couple’s therapy and talk about everything.
“They’re being very proactive in their relationship and are doing the work to prevent problems before they start.”
The couple has mostly kept their relationship off social media but Gary made his reality TV debut in a June episode of Teen Moms: The Next Chapter.
Amber introduced Gary to her reality TV co-stars and the world in a Zoom call.
She said, “This is my boyfriend. We are now officially a couple.”
He added, “Hello everybody. My name is actually Gary believe it or not,” referencing that Amber’s baby daddy is also named Gary.
When did he go missing?
On June 10, 2024, Amber Portwood reported Gary Wayt as missing.
Gary was last seen in Bryson City, about 179 miles west of Charlotte in North Carolina, on June 9.
The couple were staying at a cabin near Bryson City before he went missing, according to Newsweek.
The sheriff’s office told The U.S Sun, “We are still trying to find him at the moment, he’s been missing since June 9.
Gary is described as 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, and bald with brown eyes in the police report.
The 39-year-old drives a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue with Indiana state registration plates, according to the missing description.
In a statement to The U.S Sun, police say that Amber told them she had argued with Gary on the day he was last seen.
“Gary left in the car without her and in the process, he left his cell phone behind,” the source continued.
