Finally making its way to streaming, audiences are beyond curious to know where Ticket To Paradise was filmed, as it showcases filming locations from lavish beaches to a beautiful Bali resort. So, where was the George Clooney and Julia Roberts flick filmed, and was it actually shot in Bali?
With George Clooney in the role of David Cotton, and Julia Roberts as Georgia Cotton, his ex-wife, Ticket To Paradise follows the divorced couple as they team up and travel to Bali to stop their daughter from marrying someone she barely knows. Sounds like the perfect recipe for a modern rom-com.
The film originally hit theatres back in October 2022. However, audiences can finally get a chance to watch it from the comfort of their homes as Ticket To Paradise is now available on Peacock in the US and has recently been added to Foxtel in Australia.

Where was Ticket To Paradise filmed?
The filming for Ticket To Paradise took place in several different locations in Australia.
Even though the film is set in Bali in Indonesia, the majority of production took place in Queensland in the northeast of Australia.
The various filming locations used by the crew of Ticket To Paradise throughout Australia include Airlie Beach, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

However, the majority of shooting for the holiday location took place at Palm Bay Resort, a beautiful place, located on Long Island, in Australia.
Beyond Australia, several scenes at the start of the movie were also filmed in California in the US.

“It was really quite a complex process”
In an interview with CN Traveler, the production designer for Ticket To Paradise discussed the extensive process the crew went through to craft the essence of Bali. Owen Paterson talked in depth about scouting the perfect locations.
When reflecting on the lack of Bali location shooting, Paterson stated “We tried to make it as invisible as possible.” Going further, he added, “It can never quite be Bali, but for our intents and purposes it’s as close to Bali as we can make it.” Palm Bay resorted located in Long Island became the perfect location for the film.
In reference to the lovely resort depicted in the film, Paterson revealed this was made up of a composite. The crew used a lush room at the Long Pavilion at Qualia on Hamilton Island. “You know when you go to a hotel room, every room on the same floor is almost the same. But say your friend is next door, you can see the room is in reverse.” This is what they attempted to recreate.
“So what we did is we built one set with one pool and in Julia Roberts’ characters room we had a stone wall on the right hand side and we swapped it in George’s room.”
When discussing the beaches used during production, Paterson highlighted how the beach they originally intended to use was unavailable, forcing the crew to settle on a different beach, Catseye Beach on Hamilton Island. This beach is where the soccer scene, and some of the wedding scene, was filmed.
