Gary Lineker has raised the question Tottenham fans will never want to answer and that’s ‘what would they do’ without Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
The Match of the Day presenter was reacting to Tottenham’s record-breaking duo scoring as Cristian Stellini’s side beat Roberto De Zerbi’s free-scoring Brighton 2-1 on home soil on Saturday.
Whilst Son Heung-min has struggled for large parts of the season, the 30-year-old scored a trademark curling effort from outside of the box to open the scoring.

That was an extra special moment for the South Korea international because it was his 100th Premier League goal – and he became the first Asian player to reach that feat.
Despite that opening effort, Brighton kept throwing punch after punch on the pitch, as there were verbal blows traded on the sidelines, which saw Roberto De Zerbi and Cristian Stellini sent off.
In the end, Harry Kane showcased why he is one of the best with a stunning finish from the edge of the box to win the game, with Lineker praising the duo, as he told Match of the Day.
“100th Premier League goal for Son,” said Lineker. “A remarkable achievement and a slightly fortunate victory for Tottenham.

“Once again, thankful for Son, I know he hasn’t been brilliant this season. But Kane certainly has. What would they do without those? Brilliant goal (from Son).
On Kane’s goal: “There are certain players in that position, who you just know are going to score.”

WHAT WOULD SPURS DO WITHOUT KANE AND SON?
The words bottom half of the table come to mind, and if Spurs don’t get their act together, then this could become a reality next season.
One London team, albeit in different circumstances, are sitting in the bottom half this season and Spurs have to avoid that for the following campaign.
If that is to be avoided, then Kane needs to be kept on board beyond the summer, even if he will have less than 12 months left to run on his contract and he can head for the exit door for next to nothing in 2024.
