Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp endured a difficult afternoon at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as Manchester City came from behind to record a 4-1 win.
The Reds went ahead thanks to a strike from Mohamed Salah in the 17th minute.
However, goals from Julian Alvarez, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish saw Manchester City pick up all three points at the expense of Liverpool.
As they coasted towards victory, the Manchester City fans aimed a chant towards Klopp.
What’s the story?
Well, the Etihad Stadium faithful clearly felt those inside the boardroom at Anfield would not be happy about this performance, as they sang “sacked in the morning” at the £307,692-a-week German.
Those working on BBC Sport‘s live commentary can also back up that claim.
Of course, Klopp is not going to receive his P45 after a loss to the reigning Premier League champions.
After everything the 55-year-old has done for Liverpool, it is far more likely that he’ll be able to leave on his own terms.

Having said that, something is definitely wrong with the Reds, and investment from Fenway Sports Group (FSG) is badly needed.
Liverpool used to be able to compete against the likes of Manchester City – even taking the Premier League title away from them in 2020.

However, the gap between both sides was clear for all to see at the Etihad Stadium today, and it will take a lot of smart recruitment by Liverpool this summer to bridge it.
Klopp likely to oversee Liverpool rebuild after Manchester City defeat
Just yesterday, Klopp confirmed that Liverpool would “spend” this summer, and the German is sure to be around for the long haul despite some nonsensical claims from a few media outlets suggesting he could go.
It was only last April that the Stuttgart-born tactician extended his contract at Anfield until July 2026, so he is clearly committed to the Reds.
Hopefully, Klopp can restore Liverpool back to what they once were with some transformative signings this summer.
