Who is rapper Nardo Wick?
Horace Bernard Walls III, known by his stage name Nardo Wick, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on December 30, 2001.
The young rapper says he was primarily influenced by fellow rap icon Gucci Mane when he was growing up.
Wick shot to fame in 2021 with the release of Who Want Smoke?, which was remixed by rappers G Herbo, Lil Durk, and 21 Savage.
The song also went viral on TikTok, with thousands of fans filming videos of themselves dancing to the hit.
The song features lyrics including: “I’m quick to snap just like my daddy / My nina rules, she kinda sassy,” and “Please don’t try ’cause you gon’ die / And I don’t wanna see your mama cry.”
Wick’s music wasn’t the only reason he made headlines in 2021.
The young rapper was also arrested by US marshals on August 18, 2021, on a concealed weapon charge.
In an interview for the Big Facts Podcast, the rapper said that before his music career took off, he wasn’t interested in having a “real job.”
“I would just look at it like I would go rob a ***** and get this much, why would I go to work,” Wick said.
“But you got to think, for real though, if I go do this to somebody and get $7,000 or $5,000, why I’m finna go to work for two weeks and make $500, hell nah.”
On December 3, 2021, Wick released his first album, Who Is Nardo Wick? by Flawless Entertainment and RCA Records.
The album featured guest appearances by Future, Lil Baby, and Lil Durk, among others.
The deluxe version, Who Is Nardo Wick? 2 was released on July 22, 2022, with additional guest appearances by Latto and The Kid Laroi.
In 2023, Wick was also featured alongside Roddy Ricch on Gucci Mane’s single Pissy, which appeared on the rapper’s 16th studio album, Breath of Fresh Air.
What happened at Nardo Wick’s concert?
Nardo Wick performed at Club Skye in Tampa Bay, Florida, on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
Sometime after the rap show, in the early hours of Monday morning, George Obregon approached the rapper and his entourage outside of the venue.
Obregon, who had VIP tickets for the show, was reportedly hoping to meet Wick, and take a photo with his “favorite artist.”
However, instead of an innocent encounter with a fan, social media footage shows a group of people attacking Obregon, knocking him unconscious.
It is unclear whether those people were associated with Wick in any way.
Obregon was left with a concussion and a brain bleed after the attack.
Obregon’s mother, Michelle Obregon, released a statement about the attack, saying: “My son wanted a stupid f***in’ picture with his favorite artist!”

“And this is what he gets! I am sick to my stomach to think about how this could have turned out!”
She added: “Anyone who knows my son knows he is the sweetest and gentlest kid ever. No drugs, alcohol, gang, nothing!”
Obregon’s friend, and a witness to the incident, Connor Villa, told TMZ: “George is just walking toward Nardo with his phone up, then the guys that were around him, they didn’t hit him at first.”
“They just kind of looked at him. He’s like, ‘Hey, can I get a picture?’ Then out of nowhere, the guy hit him from the side.”
Villa said he drove his friend to a hospital in Pasco County after the attack.
“From the point I got him in the car, he wasn’t responsive and once I got him in the car, he started to say a word or two, but he wasn’t making out sentences.”
Obregon is in critical but stable condition as of Tuesday, November 28, 2023.

“I don’t condone what happened to my fan George after my show in any type of way, I expressed to him and his mama how sorry and concerned I was that it happened to him, multiple times before anything was even posted or on the internet.”
The rapper reportedly reached out to Obregon’s mother the night of the attack and said he had even tried to intervene in the fight.
“I cant [sic] control another grown man actions, I ain’t know that was gone happen, and I was mad when it happened.”

They added: “He did not condone or participate in anything that occurred. He took no part in it…that’s not his security nor are the individuals directly connected to Nardo.”
His team also reiterated their wishes for Obregon’s recovery.
“We are praying for a speedy recovery! Nardo loves and genuinely cares about his fans.”
Tampa police detectives are actively working on the case.
The department said: “Detectives are aware of the videos circulating social media and are interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information that would assist in identifying the suspects.”
