Harry Redknapp has said that Tottenham Hotspur should aim to wrap up an audacious transfer for Luka Modric in the summer.
The Real Madrid legend’s current contract expires in the summer and as things stand, he could be available on a free transfer.

Harry Redknapp has said that Luka Modric is exactly who Tottenham Hotspur need in midfield, suggesting his former club to complete the ambitious transfer.
Harry Redknapp makes Luka Modric to Tottenham transfer suggestion
The Croatian international left N17 as one of the club’s most cherished players in recent memory for just how much of a class act he was.
And at Real Madrid, the veteran has gone on to achieve immortal status, with many championing him as the outright greatest midfielder of all time.
While analysing what Tottenham lack in the middle of the park, Harry Redknapp suggested them to try to get a transfer for Luka Modric over the line.
“What they lack Tottenham, they lack people that can keep the ball. When you’re playing against 10 men and you’re 1-0 up, that was, no disrespect, in the middle of the park, they’ve got grafters, workers, they give absolutely everything”, he said on talkSPORT.

“But they lack that quality to just keep the ball, make that other team use that extra man. They haven’t got a Luka Modric.”
“Listen, if he doesn’t sign his contract at Real Madrid, what a player he’d be for two seasons for you. He’s fit as a fiddle, never misses a game, you take him all day long. Put him in there and he could run the game. He’s a fantastic footballer.”
Modric to Spurs is virtually impossible
Considering Luka Modric still remains one of, if not the best midfielder in the world, it is unlikely that Real Madrid sanction his transfer to Tottenham in the summer, which is likely to upset Harry Redknapp.
It remains a lot more plausible that Modric pens a short-term contract in the Spanish capital before calling it quits eventually.
Besides, one questions whether the 37-year-old would really want to return to the Premier League at his age, considering he has already achieved everything possible at club level already.
