Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes and Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro were left impressed on Instagram, as Liverpool transfer target Matheus Nunes scored a stunning goal during Wolves’ 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday.
All the talk pre-match was about the return of Frank Lampard to the Chelsea dugout, but after the game, Matheus Nunes, 24, was the one making the headlines for his possible goal-of-the-season contender.
As Erling Haaland outscores Chelsea in the Premier League (30 goals to 29), those in the Midlands, who are battling relegation, weren’t just showing the West London club how to put the ball into the back of the net, but doing it in spectacular fashion.

After Daniel Podence tried to find Diego Costa inside the penalty area, his flicked header was then headed away by Kalidou Koulibaly to the right-hand side where Nunes was just about to enter the penalty area.
At a tight angle, and with the ball bouncing up a few times, the £38 million star (Sky Sports) sweetly struck the ball as it came down right into the corner of the net – it has to be questioned why Liverpool have seemingly cooled interest in this possible summer transfer.
It was an outstanding goal, with his fellow countryman Bruno Fernandes posting in the comments section of Nunues’ IG ‘What a goal, brother’, whilst Porro added ‘What a player’.

LIVERPOOL’S INTEREST IN NUNES
It’s probably the best-kept secret in the world, but Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool need midfielders through their doors in the summer.
It’s been an insufferable season for the Reds, which has seen them get knocked out of every cup competition, and not even come close to the Premier League title race.
Many are looking towards the summer transfer window and bringing in a fresh crop of players to get the club going again, journalist Neil Jones previously claimed in February that Nunes is a ‘live target’ for the club.
