What does Ice Spice’s word munch actually mean? Here’s a full explanation…

What is a munch on TikTok?
Ice Spice explained what a munch is in an October 2022 interview with Genius.
“I would define munch as like just a eater or somebody that’s like obsessed with you,” the 23-year-old said. “Or it could be a hater. Either way they’re still obsessed with you.”
Then, she went on to give an extremely unhelpful definition of the word eater, which she said is “somebody that likes to eat”.
In another video, she echoed the same thing, that a munch is someone who is “really obsessed with you and just fiending to eat it”.
Ice Spice’s track Munch
In the TikTok-viral track, which was released in August 2022, Ice Spice sings about a guy who she thinks is a munch.
“That n**** a munch/ N*** a eater, he ate it for lunch/ B****, I’m a baddie, I get what I want, like/ You thought I was feelin’ you?” she sings.
She’s talking about a guy that’s obsessed with her and thinks she’s obsessed with him too. However, she’s not actually feeling him.

She’s a “baddie” who knows and gets what she wants and makes the rules – even if she has to be mean and have a bit of attitude from time to time.
Urban Dictionary explains that a baddie is a female who can hold her own and take care of herself. She’s pretty, independent and doesn’t take rubbish from anyone.
Right now, fans are asking Starbucks to collaborate with the musician and create a drink called The Munch which is topped with orange whipped cream like her hair.
It hasn’t happened yet, but never say never! Ice Spice is killing it right now, so a Starbucks partnership certainly wouldn’t be unheard of.

She wrote it in her bedroom
In the same interview, the rapper explained the very chilled out backstory behind the popular track.
“A fun fact about Munch that I don’t think everybody knows is I recorded it in my room and it took me like an hour,” she said.
“I’m like ‘I’m not gonna think too hard on this one, I’m gonna just have fun’,” the star continued. “It just came line by line.”
She put out a teaser and it quickly went viral, with a little help from fellow musician Rubi Rose who reposted it, and the rest is history.
Last year, fans accused Drake of throwing shade at Ice Spice in his Her Loss track BackOutsideBoyz, and she seemingly responded with a sarcastic tweet.
Her Loss is a collaborative album the Canadian-born rapper released with 21 Savage in November 2022.
