Bukayo Saka says ‘we know’ that Arsenal’s Premier League title rivals Manchester City have to play Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool after the international break.
The Arsenal forward added ‘we’re not going to pretend’ that fixture isn’t coming up for Pep Guardiola’s side and he thinks they will be in for a ‘tough’ time against the Reds, as he told Premier League Productions (19/03/23 at 4:15 pm).
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal opened up an eight-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, after the champions were involved in FA Cup action against Burnley on Saturday, and they beat Crystal Palace 4-1 on Sunday.

Getting booted out of the FA Cup, whilst their title rivals remain in that competition, seems to have worked in Arsenal’s favour because it has allowed them to extend that lead, even if they have played a game extra, they have points on the board and that equals pressure.
Domestic football will now head towards international fixtures, but upon everyone’s return, the dust is going to be settled and the champions of the 2022/23 season will be crowned.
On April 1, Man City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad during the lunchtime kick-off, with Arsenal playing Leeds United hours later, so there is every chance, if the Reds win, then by 5 pm at the start of next month, that lead at the top of the table could be 11 points, with Saka sending the following message.
“I feel like we are playing well and the team is playing well,” said Saka. “We just want to continue like this.

On the eight-point lead: “It’s very significant. We know who they (Man City) play next. We aren’t going to pretend that we don’t know. We know it’s a tough game for them.
“At the same time, we need to focus on ourselves. We have ten finals to go. We are out of every competition and it’s only the Premier League. That’s the way we are treating it.”

LIVERPOOL WILL HAVE A SAY
It’s not only Manchester City that Liverpool will play after the international break, but they will also welcome Arsenal to Anfield.
During Arsenal’s All or Nothing documentary, Arteta discussed the difficulty of playing Liverpool on their own patch, and in truth, it’s probably something he shouldn’t have said in public because that pressure will be used against his side when they visit Merseyside.
Either way, if Arteta and his players can see through next month, without a scratch or a real bump, then they will, no doubt, end their near-20-year wait to become champions of England.
