Michael Owen says when Ollie Watkins is on song then the Aston Villa striker is a ‘very, very difficult’ player to handle.
That was proven when Ollie Watkins scored for the sixth consultive away game on Tuesday night when Unai Emery’s side beat Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium.
Villa’s red-hot number nine opened the scoring after being fed a through ball from Emiliano Buendia, before riding the challenges of several Leicester players, he kept his cool and slowly guided the ball into the back of the net.

That’s six on the bounce on the road for the 27-year-old, the last time that happened was in 2017 when a certain Sergio Aguero achieved that feat.
But added to all of that, Watkins also has eight goals from his last ten Premier League as he is flying high alongside his European-chasing team.
Former Liverpool and England striker Michael Owen spoke about Watkins’ latest goal and how he is a ‘confidence’ player, as he told Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 10:45 pm).
“He can go quite a few games without scoring, then he will start to score a few,” said Owen. “He is a confidence player.

“But when he is on form, then he is a very, very difficult man to handle. He was just onside (for his goal against Leicester). He timed his well. His first touch slows the momentum a little bit, then he just stretches to put it into the corner.”

ARE YOU WATCHING GARETH?
During England’s last international meet-up, Watkins was left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad, despite his strong form.
Well, he is still banging that door down and there’s no way he can be ignored if it continues.
England will meet up again in the summer for international fixtures, as Southgate has to surely consider putting the former Brentford man in his team again.
