Every year the Easter weekend celebrations come to a close on Easter Monday, a historically significant day that, in the eyes of the bible, marks the first full day of Jesus’s return after his resurrection.
While Easter is not technically a recognized federal holiday, the religious celebration does lead to the temporary closure of various businesses and some educational institutions.

Yes, the US Postal Service (USPS) does not recognize Easter Monday as a company holiday, so your post office should remain open today, Monday, April 10, 2023.
While some employees may take time off to mark the occasion, the USPS is operating as normal on the whole, so any urgent packages or letters you need to send should be unaffected.
Not only is the USPS unaffected by Easter Monday, but the service did not stop for Good Friday either. While some countries recognize both days as government-level holidays, this is not the case in the US.

When does the US Postal Service close down?
The USPS is owned and controlled by the US government, meaning it officially recognizes all eleven federal holidays. So far this year the USPS has only ceased services on three occasions: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day.
The only exception to this rule is if the federal holiday falls on a weekend. If it is a Saturday, the USPS will observe the holiday on the preceding Friday. If it’s a Sunday, like New Year’s Day was this year, the USPS will observe it the following Monday.
The next USPS holiday will be on Monday, May 29, when the country will come together to honor Memorial Day. The following holiday will be Juneteenth on June 19.
Inside the UK Royal Mail’s Easter hours
While the USPS may be unaffected by Easter Monday, you may face delays if you’re sending a package across the pond to the United Kingdom.
The UK’s postal service, the Royal Mail, observes the Easter Monday holiday, meaning there will be no mail deliveries or collections across the UK today.
All UK postal services are set to carry on as normal tomorrow, Tuesday April 11, however, though it is worth noting that there may be a backup due to the closures over the Easter weekend.
The next scheduled Royal Mial closure is set for the bank holiday on May 1, though you should always check for holiday closures ahead of time, as each nation within the UK has slightly different bank holiday dates.
