Ian Wright has stated that it’s a ‘shame’ that Son Heung-min hasn’t won anything at club level after his 100th Premier League goal in Tottenham Hotspur colours over the weekend.
The Arsenal legend added that Son Heung-min, who became the first Asian footballer to reach that feat in the Premier League, ‘needs those trophies’ to his name.
That’s been the story of Tottenham in recent years and their inability to get over that line, even though they have had two trophy-laden coaches in the dugout.

Antonio Conte left with a bang and a wall of fire following that outburst in his presser, whilst Daniel Levy decided it was best to put a 29-year-old in charge of a League Cup final against Pep Guardiola, instead of Jose Mourinho.
Whilst Mauricio Pochettino was a popular figure, once again, all that pretty stuff resulted in no trophy success.
That’s the one big blip Ian Wright mentioned after speaking about the success of Son reaching the 100-goal Premier League club, as he told Premier League Productions (10/04/23 at 2:30 pm).
“Unfortunately, he (Son) hasn’t won anything with his club, which is a shame for him,” said Wright.

“Simply because, when you are scoring those goals, at that level, you really do what something. You do. You want to put him in that bracket, you kind of need those trophies.”

CAN SON FIND HIS MAGIC?
For one reason or another, after winning the Golden Boot last season, it hasn’t clicked for the 30-year-old this time around.
Even though Antonio Conte played a big part in Son having a blistering end to the last campaign, he has been well off it this season.
But perhaps his trademark goal against Brighton over the weekend will see him produce the goods just when it matters the most for Spur because now the crunch moments of the season have arrived.
