Dodge dog replaces Twitter logo and users have too many questions about this change

It could get really frustrating when you’re trying to post a reply on Twitter and the button wouldn’t work. But, what could cause the issue, and can it be fixed?

The platform under Elon Musk has undergone a lot of changes. The most recent one is Twitter Blue, which allows any account to have the tickmark on display, as long as the service is paid for.

Many, including Doja Cat, have called out the social media platform for its new feature, but the majority of the users are thrilled to have the badge on their profiles which was previously only available for popular accounts.

The paid subscription rolled out on April 1 and users are now complaining about the reply button not working, which could be caused by a number of reasons.

Why is the Reply button on Twitter not working?

The Reply button on Twitter may not be working for some users for the below reasons.

  • Technical issues – The prominent feature could be glitching at the moment due to technical limitations on the platform’s end. To put it in simpler words, a bug could be causing temporary hiccups on the platform, which may take a few hours to be identified and fixed.
  • Restricted accounts – Your account may be restricted from replying to certain users or tweets due to changed settings or violation of guidelines.
  • Internet connectivity – Oftentimes, your replies may not get through due to poor internet connection.
  • Browser extensions – Some extensions or add-ons on your browsers or mobile device can also cause issues with the reply option on Twitter.

Technical glitch annoys users

The whole purpose of Twitter may render useless if you aren’t able to reply to certain Tweets or interact with fellow users. Many of them have taken to the platform to raise complaints about the option not working for them.

One wrote: “It seems my reply button is not working in the “For You” section after I paid for blue checkmark.”

“Are replies not working? Or is there some new blue check vs. plebes restrictions?,” asked another.

A third person said: “Twitter is all kinds of broken. Clicking reply not working half the time. Notifications acting weird. oof.”

“Reply was not working on desktop, works on the phone, weird,” read a fourth tweet.

Possible fixes

You could try the below possible fixes for the Reply button on Twitter not working.

  • Check your Internet connectivity – Make sure you have an uninterrupted Internet connection or mobile data while trying to access the app.
  • Log out and log back into your account and try sending the replies again.
  • Clear accumulated cache on your device as it often results in the slow functioning of the app or hinders its performance.
  • Remove browser extensions if you have any as they could be interfering with the app.
  • Contact Twitter customer care if none of the above works or wait for a few hours and refresh your For You page again as the bug maybe be identified and removed.
