Paul Merson has incredibly claimed that Daniel Levy should ‘ask’ Harry Kane about who Tottenham Hotspur should appoint as their next manager.
Cristian Stellini is in temporary charge of Spurs until the end of the season, but Merson made it clear ‘who would want to be Tottenham manager if Harry Kane isn’t there?’.
There is every chance that the England captain heads for the exit door in the summer, especially with 12 months of his contract left to run – Spurs have been told to sign goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford to keep him on board.

The issue for Spurs is that when they start negotiating deals to bring in their new manager, they might not have Champions League football or Kane on board, in order to persuade that individual to come in.
That’s why their first game since Antonio Conte’s sacking – their trip to relegation-threatened Everton on Monday night – is going to be crucial in their quest to finish in the top four.
Secure that top-four finish and then things will be easier for Daniel Levy, but this was Paul Merson’s claim regarding Harry Kane, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (01/04/23 at 12:15 pm).
“Surely, if you are Tottenham, then you are going to Harry Kane and asking Harry Kane,” said Merson. “As soon as Harry Kane goes that is it.

“Who wants to be the manager of Tottenham Hotspur if Harry Kane isn’t there?!”
Kris Boyd responded: “You can’t have a player deciding who you want the next manager to be.”
Merson added: “Wow, you are joking me?! They would want him to have a say.”

CHELSEA SACK GRAHAM POTTER
This makes things very, very interesting for Spurs because now their London rivals are looking for a new manager after booting Graham Potter out of the door on Sunday evening – Tottenham have been told to consider the Englishman.
Even though Chelsea are sitting 11th in the Premier League table, they will be fishing for the big names in the manager target, with recently-sacked Bayern Munich coach, Julian Nagelsmann top of the shopping list.
The German is also a target for Spurs, but reports now suggest that Chelsea are set to make their move for the 35-year-old.
