Over the last few days, speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur and Sporting CP’s Pedro Goncalves has intensified.
Earlier this week, 90Min reported that Spurs have been closely watching the 24-year-old over the past few months.
Several Portuguese media outlets have also been discussing the links between Tottenham and Goncalves, also known as Pote.

Record have reported that Spurs had sent scouts to watch him in Europa League action against Juventus on Thursday.
Meanwhile, A Bola – via Sport Witness – have claimed that Tottenham have now stepped up their pursuit of Goncalves.
The outlet claims Spurs have been keen on the Portuguese winger since scouting and eventually signing Pedro Porro.
Indeed, Goncalves and Porro have shared the pitch as teammates 79 times, according to Transfermarkt.
The Tottenham target has particularly endeared himself to Spurs fans in wake of his heroics against Arsenal.

His effort from long range helped Sporting take the Gunners to penalties and knock them out of the Europa League.
A Bola claims Goncalves’ efforts against Arsenal have now ‘accelerated’ Tottenham’s pursuit of the player.
The outlet added that the Portuguese has a €80m (around £70m) release clause in his contract, which runs until 2026.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham could negotiate with Sporting and get the price down, or potentially have to pay the full clause.
Tottenham could certainly do with more goals and creativity in their attacking ranks, and Goncalves would be a great shout.
In addition, Porro could help his former Sporting teammate acclimatise to life at Tottenham and in England were he to join.
