Jose Enrique has claimed on his Instagram story that he ‘doesn’t know how’ Manchester City sold Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.
This comes after Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secured a dramatic 3-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday at the Emirates, with Liverpool-mad pundit, Enrique, calling the versatile footballer a ‘top player’.
Not only did Manchester City sell Zinchenko to the Gunners for £32 million in the summer (Sky Sports), but during the January transfer window, they then allowed Joao Cancelo to leave on a loan deal to Bayern Munich.

The Cancelo deal was perhaps the biggest of surprises because it came out of the blue and during the middle of the campaign.
Either way, that’s two very high-quality fullbacks the current champions of England have lost, especially given that they play a pivotal role in their system.
And Enrique was seemingly suggesting that it’s the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich that are now benefiting from what is Manchester City’s loss.
“Top player (Zinchenko),” said Enrique. “I don’t know how Manchester City let him go and then Cancelo.”

ARSENAL’S LEFT-BACK OPTIONS
It’s amazing how things can change within 12 months. This time last year, Arsenal were chasing Champions League football and falling badly.
One of their biggest issues was that left-back spot. When Kieran Tierney got injured, Nuno Tavares was drafted in and he struggled.
There was even a point when Granit Xhaka was playing there.
Yet, fast forward to the present and Zinchenko is cooking in that role and someone like Tierney can’t even earn any minutes, which just goes to show the depth in quality they now have on that left-hand side.
