"This morning": 27-year-old admits he had words with Saka about incident during Arsenal game

Jack Grealish has revealed that he spoke to Arsenal No.7 Bukayo Saka about an incident at the Emirates Stadium on England duty.

What’s the story?

Well, Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat to Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium back on Wednesday 15th February.

During the clash in north London, Saka knocked Grealish over when the pair went shoulder to shoulder.

The £100m man has now shared his thoughts on that moment, and revealed what he said to the Hale End graduate when they met up for England duty earlier this week.

Grealish told The Times: “I thought he has got to give it as a foul because I can’t have Bukayo saying that he bodied me. I pulled him up on that this morning and he said it was never a foul!”

The 27-year-old eventually scored to put Manchester City 2-1 up in the 72nd minute, after Saka’s penalty cancelled out an opener from Kevin De Bruyne.

Grealish and Saka share a strong relationship – his words are clearly meant in jest for anybody who was under the impression that the Manchester City No.10 is genuinely annoyed.

England duo Saka & Grealish can take inspiration from Arsenal

When Grealish does receive an opportunity from Gareth Southgate, he usually ends up on the left flank, although he is yet to truly announce himself for the Three Lions.

In our view, Grealish should take inspiration from Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal when he next lines up for England, with the Brazil international thriving on the opposite flank to Saka.

The South American often drives inside defenders to finish off moves inside the box – a trait which has seen him score 13 goals in the Premier League this season.

Contrastingly, Grealish tends to hold the width by hugging the touchline and rarely threatens the box, which has led to just three Premier League goals this term.

Of course, that is probably down to Pep Guardiola’s instructions, but on England duty, Grealish should take inspiration from Saka and Martinelli’s partnership to become a more dangerous player for the Three Lions.
