Glenn Hoddle has praised Ollie Watkins for scoring in his sixth consecutive away game when Aston Villa beat Leicester City 2-1 on Tuesday night at the King Power Stadium.
The England legend also added that if Aston Villa get a Europa League spot for next season, and he thinks they have a real chance, then he feels they will win it under Unai Emery.
The Spanish coach is one of the best in the business when it comes to Europe and he has won that competition a staggering four times, most recently with Villarreal.

That’s one of the big reasons why Villa, after sacking Steven Gerrard in October, handed the keys to the former Arsenal man.
Fast forward to the present and, only the Premier League’s top two – Arsenal and Manchester City – have picked up more points than the Midlands side.
It’s a remarkable job Emery is doing and Glenn Hoddle was full of praise, for the man in the dugout and his in-form star striker, as he told MatchDay Extra on Premier League Productions (04/04/23 at 10:45 pm).
“He had a lot to do Ollie Watkins, there were three Leicester defenders on him, but his first touch was excellent,” said Hoddle. “He was just onside, and then my word, that is a finishers goal. That is a fabulous finish.”

On Villa in Europe: “But what a job (Emery has done). I mean Villa aren’t a team you want to play, at the moment. They can’t wait for the next game.
“They certainly have (the chance to reach Europe for the first time in over ten years). I tell you what, if they get in Europa this year, which they could do now, on the run that they have got, then they will go and win it. He has won it four times!”

VILLA HAVE A EUROPEAN CHANCE
Sitting seventh in the Premier League, won five of their last six games, bang in form, Ollie Watkins flying and Nottingham Forest up next.
This Villa side has every chance, plus more, of securing a European finish for next season.
What’s even better for the team is that they play everyone around them from now until May, so Emery might do the unthinkable yet.
