Octopath Traveler II is jam-packed with content that you can explore. There is a wide world full of opportunities, with lots of missions to complete, NPCs to talk to, and even secret jobs to unlock. This guide will talk you through the secret jobs you can unlock in Octopath Traveler II.
If you are familiar with the franchise, then you may remember advanced jobs from Octopath Traveler. They are similar, but they do function differently from the jobs in the first game. You don’t unlock them in the same fashion. You don’t have to do massive boss fights to get them. Instead, some of these secret jobs you can unlock just by speaking with regular NPCs!
Whilst you can unlock these jobs fairly early on in the game, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a great choice to use them at the start. This can be due to a number of reasons, such as utility, damage, and what they do, as well as who can use the class.
Here are the secret jobs in Octopath Traveler II that you can unlock, and where you can get them.
Secret Jobs And How To Unlock Them
As stated earlier, these jobs are different from the advanced jobs in Octopath Traveler.
There are four secret jobs in total that you can unlock, and most of them are relatively easy to unlock. There is the Inventor, Armsmaster, Conjurer, and Arcanist.
Unlocking the Inventor is pretty easy, and you can do it early in the game. The Inventor Guild is found in the northeast of Eastern New Delsta Highroad. Because of this, you can unlock this very early in the game after you start. If you start with Throne, you can unlock it even earlier.
To unlock the Inventor, you have to find specific key items in order to unlock Inventor skills, rather than using your Job Points to unlock the skills. Because of this, it means that it will be a harder one to play with earlier in the game, and is probably best saved for late game.

The Armsmaster guild is in a blacksmith’s home in Gravell. There will be a man blocking the door, and you will have to deal with him. You’ll need to knock him out, using Ambush or Challenge. Similar to the Inventor, you will equally need to bring specific items to the blacksmith to be able to unlock Armsmaster skills. However, in this case, it’s not just any old item. It’s rusty weapons!
To unlock the Conjurer you will need to get your boots on and climb the Five-tiered tower in Ku. The tower is on the right at the castle entrance of Ku. You will only be able to access this tower once you have completed Hikari’s story. For this secret job, you will need to do some boss fights. Five in total, with the Conjurer being the last. You can even leave between each boss, save, heal, or whatever you like! The conjurer is the hardest boss out of all of them, as her weaknesses swap depending on whether she is a Shrine Maiden or Sword-Wielding Demon.
Once you have successfully beaten them all, she will give you a license and disappear. There is no guild for this job. You unlock the Conjurer skills with JP rather than having to fetch items for it. Each skill will cost you 2,000 JP to unlock!
The Arcanist requires you to have the boat unlocked, which also means you need to have Partitio and $100,000. Once you do, you can go to Tropu’hopu, a town east of Beasting Village. This opportunity only appears to you if you have Partitio at your party! Purchase yourself a boat, and set sail to The Lost Isle.
On the way to the Island, you will have to fight a boss inside a whirlpool. Level 50 is a good level to be for this fight. Once you have made it to the island, head up the ladder and change the time to night. There’s a twinkling path to the left. Follow the path and you will see an Arcanist who gives you the job license. Each skill takes 2,000 JP to unlock.
That’s all you need to know about the secret jobs in Octopath Traveler II. Good luck unlocking them!
