Nearing the end of the episode, Brian asked the TV personality about her eldest daughter, Paloma, 16, and how she’s doing as she gets ready for college.
However, Sunny revealed the honest truth about her relationship with her teenage daughter.
“How has it been going for you?” he asked.
“It’s not going well,” Sunny revealed, “I’m sad to say.”
She went on to say that she was close with her son, Gabriel, 21, and Paloma as well because “she’s a girl.”
The ABC personality went on: “We do like girl things together like we get our ears pierced, we get our hair done at the same place, and we talk about boys. It’s always been the two girls against the two boys in the house, it’s always been great.
“I don’t know, she turned 16 and she puts her headphones on in the car and doesn’t talk to me. I don’t understand it.”
Brian then said: “Age appropriate. I mean, that’s what happens.”
Sunny continued: “I’m so hurt by the whole thing. I’m so devastated and it’s just the little kid that just adored my every move. If I’m going out and I have a dress on and she says ‘You ate that’ I’m ecstatic for the compliment, like, it’s great.”
She then revealed she began following an account on Instagram where she said she “almost needs to be in therapy” for that helps parents raise teenagers – and recommends it.
SUPER MOM
Back in October, Sunny revealed Paloma’s secret health issue on the podcast – and why her phone sometimes rings while she’s live on air.
Brian revealed that he “had a bone to pick” with Sunny as her phone interrupted a recent broadcast.

“It’s not a big deal, but the phone rang today during the show,” Brian began.
“This has been a long history, not just you, but I’d say all the ladies…”
In response, the former CNN legal analyst confessed that she had “an explanation” for her phone ringing.
Sunny stated: “The only reason I have my phone at all with me for this one hour of television is because of the children.”
Though Brian admitted that Sunny’s reasoning “made sense,” he expressed that he “had suggested banishing all phones from the table.”
FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY
Sunny revealed that “the only reason” her phone was on during filming was because of her children.
“I have it [her phone] set so that the only time it rings is if it’s Paloma or Gabriel,” she disclosed.
“They have been instructed, that they can not call me between 11 and 12. If they text me, I hear a little ding. And then I could look at the text.
“It’s pretty imperceptible; I don’t think you heard the ding.”
Brian confirmed that he didn’t think he had ever “heard the ding.”
Sunny went on to reveal that her kids had actually “dinged her during the show.”
The View’s co-host then shared that her daughter had Brown Syndrome, a disease that affects the eyes.
“[Brown Syndrome] causes her to need about 2-3 times the amount [of time] to read the same thing that it would take an average child,” Sunny elaborated.
