Andy Gray and Richard Keys mocked Serge Aurier’s defending during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
The 30-year-old returned to his old stomping ground with his Forest side and Andy Gray questioned his performance, with Richard Keys adding ‘that’s why he’s not at Tottenham’, as they told beIN SPORTS (11/03/23 at 5:20 pm).
It’s ironic that January signing, Pedro Porro, put in a stellar display, as well as supplying an assist, whilst Aurier was back to his old tricks – A certain Son Heung-min welcomed his former teammate back in a playful manner.

It’s a big reason why his contract was terminated by Tottenham during the summer transfer window of 2021, with Matt Doherty following suit this winter.
It’s probably been the story of Tottenham right-backs because they have struggled ever since Kyle Walker, and most recently, Kieran Trippier departed.
Nonetheless, when talking about the weekend’s actions, Aurier was questioned about his lack of penalty-box defending against his old side by Andy Gray and Richard Keys.
“I am not sure about Aurier’s defending,” said Gray. “I think he should have been better.”

Keys responded: “That’s why he’s not playing at Tottenham.”
Gray added “You are probably right. It’s a nice ball in from Richarlison. But look at Aurier’s defending?! I’m sorry, that’s not very good.”

PORRO PROVES HIS WORTH
That debut against Leicester City is one he will want to forget as soon as possible.
But it’s one he is allowed to get away with because he was walking into a team that is producing indifferent performances and the fact that it was his debut.
Now that Porro is starting to settle in, he is proving why he was purchased by Antonio Conte’s Spurs because his quality on the ball is far better than what the likes of Aurier, Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been able to produce in recent years.
