Teen Mom Kailyn Lowry shares rare full-length photo of son Rio, 1, after revealing plans for baby number 8

KAILYN Lowry has shared a rare full-length picture of her one-year-old son, Rio.

The Teen Mom star recently welcomed twins and already has plans for her next child.

In a now-expired pic posted on her Instagram Stories, Kailyn, 31, showed off Rio as he celebrated his first birthday this month.

Kailyn secretly welcomed Rio last year with her boyfriend Elijah Scott, 25.

In the snap, the tiny tot could be seen holding a birthday card while wearing a long-sleeved white shirt with a blue bowtie and a large number one on it.

On the bottom, the little boy sported a pair of blue jeans and socks.

“Obvs had to do an outfit change,” the MTV alum captioned her photo along with laughing emojis.

Kailyn kept the pregnancy and birth of Rio and her new twins on the down low – but recently revealed the genders of her babies, a boy and a girl.

OVER-THE-TOP BASH

Over the weekend, the star threw a Grinch-themed party for her little one – which included plenty of balloons and an over-the-top cake.

Kailyn didn’t shy away from showing off the decorations on social media.

There were also large cardboard cutouts of The Grinch and a sign that read, “Rio’s a Mean One,” a cute spin on the movie’s iconic song, You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch by Thurl Ravenscroft.

To further celebrate the occasion, Kailyn had a multi-tier birthday cake that matched the theme, decorated with green and red frosting, candy, and the number one at the top.

Rio even got a second cake to enjoy all to himself featuring The Grinch’s face on it while guests took home similarly decorated cookies.

Snippets of the birthday boy digging into his cake from his high chair as his mother took photos appeared at the end of the clip.

“I have soaked up every minute of this past year with Rio I cannot believe how fast it went happy birthday to the best baby! You’re a mean ONE,” Kailyn wrote as her caption.

WANTING HER PRIVACY

In an interview with People, Kailyn discussed her reasoning behind keeping Rio’s birth private.

“I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share instead of being within a contractual obligation or storyline,” she said.

“I feel like it was ripped out from under me time and time again,” she claimed, explaining that she still wasn’t able to share the news on her own schedule.

“I kind of feel like my hands are tied. People are announcing it for me and so, at this point, I might as well just talk about it.

“At this point, I can at least try to do it my way.”

Kailyn chose to hide her son’s birth from the world, but she told the outlet that she and Elijah’s “close circle, our family and our close friends all obviously knew.”

The TV personality even had an intimate baby shower with her loved ones to celebrate Rio’s arrival, which she said was “incredible since it was a really great time to kind of disconnect” as all attendees were told to not bring their phones.

Kailyn revealed that they “weren’t able to keep [everything] as private as we would’ve liked with the leak from the hospital and things like that.”

Kailyn claimed that the hospital staff leaking the news of her birth was “definitely one of the sadder moments” of her pregnancy experience, but that the issue is being “handled internally” by the medical facility.

EXPANDING THE FAMILY

In a recent social media post, Kailyn revealed her true feelings about having baby number eight.

The post was a video of a girl bonding with her baby sister, which appeared to spark baby fever for Kailyn.

“This video is the cutest thing I’ve seen in so long. I feel like my daughter needs a sister,” the former reality star wrote.

Aside from Rio and the twins, the reality TV personality has Isaac, 13, with her ex Jo Rivera; Lincoln, nine, with her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, 30; and sons Lux, and Creed, with her ex, Chris Lopez, 29.
