Kevin Campbell has backed Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, who ‘loves’ Bukayo Saka, during the summer transfer window.
The Highbury legend added that Declan Rice is a ‘top player’ and he is ‘sure’ that talks between the West Ham captain and Arsenal are ‘on-going’.
In the summer, there are high expectations that the 24-year-old midfielder will leave the London Stadium in order to pursue his dream of playing Champions League football.

Mikel Arteta’s side are guaranteed that for next season, including the possibility that they could be champions of England.
But Rice won’t come cheap because David Moyes thinks he will cost more than Chelsea’s British record transfer capture, Enzo Fernandez.
Either way, Campbell wants the player down at the Emirates and he thinks he might end up playing a more attacking role if he joins, as he told the Highbury Squad.
“They all love Saka,” said Campbell after seeing a photo of Rice embracing the Hale-End star whilst on England duty. “You can just see. They all love him.
“Declan Rice, listen, I think he’s a top player. The way he moves around that pitch. The way he slots into defence, then he moves to the right and the left. The way he handles the ball.

“I think he will be excellent at our place. He could be asked to play a different role at our place because he has got that in him to bomb forward as well.
“It could be very interesting if he does come. I am sure talks are on-going. I am sure Declan is asking Bukayo a few questions about the manager and how things are.”

THE RACE FOR RICE
For once, Arsenal will be heading into a transfer window where they can stick their chest out and compete for some of the best names.
Those in north London aren’t the only ones keen because Graham Potter’s Chelsea also want the £80 million star, with Danny Murphy recently claiming that he would be an ‘automatic starter’ with the Gunners compared to those at Stamford Bridge.
Whilst Chelsea have more money to splash compared to their neighbours, where they might fall short is the real possibility that they, not only miss out on Champions League football this season, but also Europe altogether.
