Herculez Gomez has praised Leeds United midfielder Brenden Aaronson for his much-needed performance for the USMNT.
Despite Brenden Aaronson’s indifferent form for Leeds, US pundit Gomez stated that the Leeds United star put in a ‘strong showing’ for his nation as they thrashed Grenada 7-1.
Leeds’ summer signing got on the scoresheet and he will be hoping to continue that when his nation takes on El Salvador on Tuesday.

Things started in a promising fashion for Aaronson in Yorkshire, but there is a big reason why England’s top flight is the best league in the world.
That goal during Leeds’ 3-0 win over Chelsea in August has been the only time he has found the back of the net, and in recent weeks, he has returned to the starting XI.
Many would have thought once Jesse Marsch was sacked that Aaronson’s struggles would have continued, but things are now starting to pick up as former USMNT forward Gomez told ESPN.
“That’s a good one for Brenden Aaronson because he desperately needed a good showing,” said Gomez.
“He was one of the most productive players in the lead-up to the World Cup. We used to call him Mr Futbol Americas. Mr Running back because he would constantly show up with goals and assists in our programme.

“About the time he went to Leeds, and he was about to go to the World Cup, everything started going south for him. He gets injured, then he starts playing with the reserve side and then he is coming in off the bench.
“Then when he is coming in, his team are giving up leads. They are giving up goals. It’s been a situation that has been kind of rough. The man who brought him there, Jesse Marsch, gets fired, it has been a lot of change for Brenden Aaronson. He desperately needed a strong showing.”

THE LAST RUN-IN
Javi Garcia’s side went into the International break with their tails up and full of confidence because of that morale-boosting win over Wolves.
Now the Leeds coach will be fretting at losing players through injury – Max Wober has sent a message to fans about his recent injury.
Either way, if the Whites can get everyone fit and healthy for the final run-in, then there is every chance they survive this jam-packed nine-team relegation battle.
