Starbucks and its CEO, Howard Schultz, have found inspiration in Italy to create the latest line of beverages called Oleato, consisting of different flavors of olive oil-infused coffee.
The coffee chain, which is known for experimenting with its handcrafted drinks, is currently being pushed by its fans to collaborate with rapper Ice Spice for the drink, The Munch, named after her 2022 single.
It was also in the news recently after the recall of its Vanilla Frappuccino bottles as they could contain glass.
And now, people are eager to try the Starbucks Oleato which is believed to be infused with Partanna extra virgin olive oil.

Starbucks Oleato comes in different flavors
Starting February 22, Oleato will be available at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan and in Starbucks stores in Italy.
The beverages served at both places are different. While the Milan Roastery will include:

Starbucks’ press release notes, Oleato is expected to be available in the U.S. this spring.
It will be introduced in selected markets including Japan, the Middle East, and the United Kingdom later this year. The exact timeline hasn’t been revealed.
How the unique beverage was born
The idea behind olive oil-infused coffee was born out of Howard’s own experience when he was traveling Sicily.
Apparently, he was introduced to the Mediterranean custom of using a spoonful of olive oil each day, which he incorporated into his morning cup of coffee.
He ended up finding the combination of two “delicious”, which inspired him to start the new Starbucks beverage.
The idea was turned into a drink by the principal Starbucks beverage developer, Amy Dilger.
