SPY Kids’ Alexa PenaVega has revealed the painful loss of her daughter Indy after her and her husband Carlos’ baby was born at rest.
On Monday, the Ruby & the Rockits alum shared the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post.
Alexa, 35, began the statement by writing, “There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss.”
“After a beautiful and peaceful delivery of our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest.”
She continued, “It has been a painful journey. But in the pain we have found peace.”
“God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms.”
Alexa revealed that “prayers from the community” have sustained her and Carlos through this “difficult season” and admitted that Indy has already changed their lives in “so many ways.”
The Remember the Daze star revealed her daughter was “absolutely beautiful” and looked just like her husband.
“Grief comes to us in waves,” Alexa added.
She explained, “Moments of feeling absolutely gutted… then moments of feeling blessed by just getting a moment with her.”
The actress continued, “We can understand why things like this happen and we may never get those answers.
“Indy Rex PenaVega, you completely changed our world. You moved us to a new place. You gave us the community we have been longing for.”
Alexa concluded, “We love you can’t wait to see how many other lives you change.”
Fans and friends messaged their condolences in the post’s comment section.
X-Men star Shawn Ashmore wrote, “We are sending all our love to your family right now! We are so sorry for your loss.”
Nashville actor Sam Palladio commented, “I’m so devastated to hear of your family’s loss Alexa. Sending so much love.”
“Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family. May God wrap his loving arms around you all today and always,” added a fan.
TRAUMATIC ACCIDENT
In 2021, Alexa suffered another heartbreaking moment when her son lost part of his finger after she accidentally slammed a door on his hand.
The Hallmark actress, who shares son Kingston with her Big Time Rush actor husband Carlos PenaVega, said the whole experience has been “rough” and “traumatic.”
Alexa shared a photo of her toddler lying down with a mitten covering his injury.
She explained what happened when she wrote, “While getting the kids ready for bed, I shut Kingston’s fingers in the hinge of the bathroom door,” the 35-year-old wrote on her Instagram.
Alexa continued, “His first finger is bruised and a little bloody, but his middle finger took the brunt of it and was severed from the first knuckle near the tip.
“It was the most traumatic thing we’ve had go through as a family.”
The From Prada to Nada star admitted, “The mom guilt and the shame was really hard to get through.
“But thank God for the sweet little bruiser Kingston is.”
Along with Kingston, Alexa and Carlos share a son Ocean, seven, and a two-year-old daughter named Rio.
The pair, who now can often be seen starring in Hallmark movies together, tied the knot in January 2014.
Despite it taking a “minute for [everyone] to process what happened,” Alexa shared that her husband Carlos was “amazing and swooped in like a Superman to take care of our family.”
The whole experience, she said, “made us all love each other even more and humbled us completely.”
Knowing how worried her fans would be upon hearing the story of what happen, she assured everyone that Kingston is doing well and already playing around as if the whole thing never even happened.
Unfortunately, Alexa shared that the doctors were unable to reattach the piece of his finger that was lost.
“Poor baby,” she said, “but the other 9 are so cute! He’ll be more than fine!”
Carlos also hopped on Instagram to share that Kingston “had a little booboo” but is “gonna be okay.”
The then-2-year-old jumped into the frame next to his dad, showing off his mitt-covered hand and that he was recovering from everything well.
