Arsenal talent Folarin Balogun has been tearing it up for Stade de Reims this season, the 21-year-old was once again impressive for the French side in their recent win against AS Monaco.
The Hale End academy graduate scored the only goal of the game to bring his Ligue 1 tally for the season up to 16, with Balogun now the first English player to reach this figure in France’s top-flight since Glenn Hoddle, with the Reims striker on course to beat the record of 18 in a single season.
Balogun’s form and Reims’ story under Will Still has been one of the best in Europe this season, and it’s no wonder that the French media have since lauded the Arsenal-owned striker for his heroics in Monaco, with the win taking the Champagne-based side to eighth in the standings.

Lauded as ‘perfect’ by Maxifoot after another ‘speechless’ performance, it’s safe to say that Balogun caught the eye of many against Monaco, with the Reims attacker providing a complete striker’s performance against the Ligue 1 giants in their own backyard.

With GFFN handing the attacker a 7/10 in their player ratings for the match with Made in Foot also lauding Balogun’s overall display against Monaco, Arsenal fans will be pleased that their Hale End youngster is more than just a good finisher for his on-loan club.
Indeed, with Arsenal’s striking options as strong as they have been in some time, Balogun could struggle to break into the trinity of Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and now Leandro Trossard. Yet if the forward can keep up these sort of performances, it won’t be long until a big European clubs looks to splash the cash for the 21-year-old.
